My inspiration for this assignment was based on the fact that I wanted to become more skilled in studio photography. The last time I tried studio photography was when I did the "In the Style of Richard Avedon" and that was definitely not my best work. Annie Leibovitz, to me, is one of the best studio photographers because her lighting is always perfect. I chose this picture of Angelina Jolie for my inspiration picture because I wanted to try to focus on just one lighting style at a time. This picture has cross lighting, however I did notice that there was a slight triangle on her cheek, maybe from how her arm is positioned, that could be considered as a slight Rembrandt. For my first picture I did not have any studio lights or reflectors so I had the model stand in the corner outside with half sunlight and half shade. I tried to use the concrete wall to absorb the sunlight to try to create the cross lighting, however, I did not work so I do not think this is my strongest image. In Photoshop I turned the image into black and white and adjusted the levels to create less grey. My second image came out a lot neater because I was able to use the studio lights and reflectors. I used the silver reflector for this picture as well as cross lighting. Again I used Photoshop to make it black and white, however, this time I used the brightness and contrast to make the withe and black more prominent.. My final image I used the silver reflector as well and used cross lighting. Again I edited the levels and contrast in Photoshop to bring out the black and white. I originally wanted to recreate the Annie Leibovitz picture that was used for "Les Miserables", however i changed my mind. I still created one look alike image in the same style. I used a fan for the hair and not really any specific lighting. In Photoshop I used a filter to create the old worn-out image effect.
